  • I was a licensed veterinary technician in the area for the last 15 years. I worked at Veazie Veterinary Clinic for 7 years and most recently at Lucerne Veterinary Hospital for 8 years. I am very passionate about working with animals and am very excited about this opportunity to own and run Maine Animal Keeper. I currently have a 1 year old Golden Retriever named Paxton and three cats, Fenway, Brady and Kobe.

  • Hi, my name is Stephanie Panno. I am the manager here at Maine Animal Keeper. I also teach dog obedience classes. I have been teaching classes for 3 plus years now. I started working with animals very young, volunteering at an animal shelter in 2001 for 5 years until I was offered a full time job. In the meantime, I was also doing in-home pet sitting and working part time in a dog boarding facility. I also spent a lot of time riding horses and competing in dressage. In 2009, I started work here at Maine Animal Keeper. I have now been here for 6 years and love it! I just got married to my husband Tim in 2014. I have three dogs at home, Lily, Diesel and Daisy and own two horses, Jack and Adina. I look forward to working with you and your dog!

  • Hi I'm Ashley! I am a groomer here at the Maine Animal Keeper. I've been grooming for about 4 years. I apprenticed 2 ladies in Holden where I learned everything I know. I love working and being around animals. Grooming for me is not just about work, it is about the different interactions I get with each animal and making them feel as comfortable as possible. I have a Husky named Mila that I absolutely adore, a cat named Millie, 2 ferrets(mr. Crackers and belletrix). When I am not working I enjoy being outdoors such as camping, hiking, and bringing Mila swimming, since she is a fantastic diver! I look forward to making your furry friends look amazing.

  • I live in the Hermon area with my three rescue animals - my two cats Reba and Toby, and my constant companion, Oz, a Border Collie/Husky mix. I am the proud mother of two grown sons, Jesse and James. After 29 years, I retired from Verizon and in 2011 I found Maine Animal Keeper! After a lifetime of owning and loving dogs of my own, I now have the opportunity to be surrounded by dogs five days a week....and get paid for it too! It's a pleasure to work with others everyday who share this love and respect for all of these animals that are in our care.

  • I am a recent college graduate from UMO with a B.S. in Zoology. I am originally from Connecticut and have always had a passion for working with animals. I worked at an exotic animal rescue in high school where I took care of hundreds of species of animals. I have also worked with dogs, which are, by far, my favorite! I hope to one day train service dogs to help others with disabilities.

  • Hello, my name is Samantha Ross and I just started working here at Maine Animal Keeper in May 2018. Before starting here I worked at a pet store for a little over two years. For about a year and a half of that time I was a manager and the store's Animal Care Manager. My job was to make sure all our animals were fed and watered daily and their cages were cleaned. I clipped all the birds wings and administered any meds needed in case an animal became ill. On top of all that I am also a grooming assistant. I have grown up with dogs and cats my entire life. I have always been interested in animals and I have owned a variety of them. I currently own two cats, Zander and Xerxes, an Alaskan Malamute named Steel, and a Green Cheek Conure named Navi. I enjoy going hiking with my dog about 3-4 times a week. I have completed two years in the Veterinary Technician program at UMA. I plan to go back to school eventually, but for now I look forward to making sure all your fur babies are happy and comfortable.
